Had one of the best monsoon rides yesterday.. Venturing some superb country-side roads in mountains, with green plateaus surrounded, so many waterfalls, streams flowing on the road. Riding on wonderful roads, bad road, small road, too many ghats.. Worth it..!!

Home-Jawhar(via NH8)-Dhabhosa waterfalls (300fts) -Jawhar-Kasara(the best stretch of mountains travelling through waterfalls greenery around)-NH3-Home.. a kicka$$ round spin of 400kms..

Day 1

Months passed by just thinking about long rides since my last Ride to Ladakh. Last christmas in 2010, I treated myself by gifting me a Sparkling Red CBR250R
Had a colleagues (Tulsi's) wedding to attend at Shihor, a village ahead of Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Approx 700kms from Mumbai. Can I think of any other excuse to initiate the ride. Wanted to make my trip worth by visiting some places on my return. I took a good break of 7 days. Later, surprisingly even my Wife showed the interest of accompanying me on this ride. I was little apprehensive initially of the comfort or problems my better half might face. So was over cautious about this & ensured couple of times that she wants to still opt for joining me in the ride without any mental or physical pressure (just kidding guys..! ;) )...
About the bike, as it had just 1100 kms on it with first servicing done. I was yet to test & feel its touring capabilities. And I think this was the best time to check it out, with Pillion, Saddle bags & a good distance to cover over some days. I picked up a bottle of chain lube spray. So lets see, if the bike stood promising for this ride & it didn't put my wife under a discomfort. As in my earlier tours I never tried having pillion over my saddle bags & specially never with wife. :)

Loading up the saddle bag in morning

The pillion seat after hooking up the bags

I think they where pretty comfortable. And hope both are happy, the bag & the pillion ;)

It was quiet late we started off, almost around 9. My aim wasn't to reach directly the destination on this day itself. As didnt wanted to make my companion feel stressed or tired out too much. Hence my target was to atleast make it till Vadodara, i.e. ~ 400kms & rest distance completing the next day.

First stop for the breakfast. Somewhere after 80kms.

We had to later take a break for nature call. And fuel station was a perfect place for that ;)

Now, we had already entered gujarat. More then me, my wife was excited, as she was so proud on herself. That she actually came with me on BIKE in a different state ;)
It was already noon. And there was a lovely food court we spotted enroute. Thought of having the lunch break there. As I dont wanted to scare Pooja by taking her to just 'any' dhabha, like how we guys do usually ;), dont we.. :)

As we entered the people inside where little stunned to see a gal
specially in those guards. But it was a good feel, to get this kind of
stares specially from the Cars walas.. ;) What are we couple upto, could be the thoughts..!!
In about 2 hours of having food we where back on the road. We were already aware about the VEG journey we going to undertake for almost 70% of the ride. She was specially quiet excited to have a different flavor of food.
I kept ensuring in middle that shes comfortable sitting on the bike for long time. And asked her to poke me & hit my helmet ;) anytime she wants to take a break, I will just pull over. This was the day, where we didnt clicked many pix as wanted to cover some distance, atleast 400kms. So by 7pm, she was looking little tired. And hence I didnt wanted to push her much. So we spotted a nice hotel exactly on the highway. The rooms & the rates where really good. And thought of ending our day by this halt. She was not very fresh after riding for 400kms, Obviously!. But not much stressed also. So I wanted her to rest well. It was quite chilling around. That night, we had a lovely & authentic gujarati food (kaddi, khichdi, chaas).. And I quoted her, This is the beginning gal.!
Next day, we had to reach our friends place. Which was yet 300kms away. So again I end my day, hoping she enjoys the ride much more tomorrow. Cause, if I see her happy & enjoying the ride, no complaining. Ultimately am gonna be a happy man & enchanted.! ;)

Day 2

Today was the day, we had to reach the friends place. It was 300kms away. We woke up around at 7.30am. Vadodara was pretty chilling around. The climate was just perfect. My wife got up & went to the window just to have a pleasant sight: the open farms, the sun rising up, flock of birds around, cool air..! It was bit rare for her to witness such raw sight. And she felt more pleasant, after making it on two wheels. She was very fresh & we where all set & ready to roll. I loaded the bike with saddles. Got geared up & checked out of the hotel with a quick breakfast. As the hotel was just on the highway, it was good for us to resume the ride.

All set to hit the freeway..!!

Now, we didnt have a divider road later till the destination. Around 12pm & after covering 50-60kms.. My wife wanted to have a roadside tapri chai, After spotting one, we waited at a small stall for chai. :)

She spotted a chakdda.. A diesel bullet attached with a passenger cart, used as a common transport to carry locals. Though I have seen them a lot, but it was very new for my wife.. It was delightful to see her surprised, happy..!! She asked the owner and he readily agreed to let us get on it & made him click a pic..!! :)

Sorry for no helmets :D

Getting off the chakkda, she spotted a traditional gujarati villager. And in no time, convinced him for a snap :)
ehh..Gals..!!

I was loving the company, as the fun had just got doubled up..!! So I let her hop around & even she loved interacting with locals, to know about the place & them..!
Later my bike went hungry & halted at a pump to fill her up..

Gals.. Never let go a halt with clicking or pestering locals to get clicked ;)

It was already little ahead of noon, and we wanted to take a break for gujarati lunch. On inquiring with locals there was a circle ahead with diversions, called Vataman Chokdi. So we reached there & took a food break & also to confirm the route. Here we ordered a gujarati thali. Which had loads of oil.. This doesnt mean, we will waste the food.. Finished till the last bite..!! :)
Checked with the hotel owner about the route. He suggested we go thru a shortcut. I asked him about the road condition, he said since you guys are on a motorcycle you wont even realize the bad road.. So I assumed, the road may be just little bad. He also confirmed, the bad patch is just 7-8kms. So we took the route : Pipali-Dholera-Vartej

We thought of then taking the route he suggested. As there was no reason, not believing him and accepting his suggestion. And left the hotel, ofcourse with a single click atleast.. ;)

Riding further, the road took no time turning from good-average-bad-worst.. The road was a disaster.. Bloody hotel owner let us take this route which was full of risks, atleast with the wife sharing the saddle..!!
We both abused the owner on every pothole we hit..! The road was slim, extremely bad, hardly any on coming vehicles. Top of that, road block forcing the vehicles to go down on gravel & sand as the work was in progress. We spotted 3-4 cars just toppled up in between..!
Road was all surrounded with salt panes & dry land on either sides. Adding up to the scary look.

My wrist started paining badly. But I didnt wanted to wait even for a minute here & rode further praying that the road will turn better/good.. But this road was in the same disastrous state for 50-60kms... After every few kms of already riding on bad roads, I had to get off, get down on the gravel & ride more carefully. It was a night mare & I cursed myself, for not following the Google Maps & listening to the damn owner.. We promised ourselves, no matter whatever happens, how many additional kms we may have to do, but we wont take the same route on our return path.
Finally, reached Varatej, where the National Highway resumed. She never felt so happy, seeing the smooth tarmac. Though without dividers.
We took rest for a little while at the Chai Tapri & resumed quickly. As it was now 25-30kms left to reach the Destination - Shihor.
Finally made it to the place, called up my friend. She sent her uncle to receive us & we successfully & safely reached her place, completing the first half of the journey.! It was a small village.
This was the day, before her wedding. So it was time to dance & play garba. Vow..Gujarat.! My friends entire family & relatives where stunned & threw questions on us, to know the reason we chose riding on a motorcycle till here.
It was fun explaining them about the lovely journey we had..!
The people where so lovely, they helped us with every possible things even though being in middle of the marriage preparations. After exhausting entire energy, around at 1am in night we where given a nice room from many rooms exclusively for us in my friends relatives bungalow..!! I couldn't see this bungalow properly from outside, as it was already dark & was damn tired & crashed on the bed..!
Ahh.. The day ends.. Next is the wedding day. And after the wedding, we think about going to & spending some time at Daman with some beer & chicken on our way back. Lets see..

Day 3
This was the day, where we witnessed a typical Gujarati wedding, in an
authentic style with lovely food (sweet though ;)).. And a beautiful reception in the evening under the
stars.!!

Day 4
We planned to leave early morning today & had plans to make it till
Surat at least.! Which was more than 400kms. But after waking up, we
where treated with Gujarati jalebi & fafda & just kept chatting
around with their family members. Glaring at the clock, surprised us as
it was already past 11.30am. In no time, we got ready, geared up,
saddles up & bid the lovely people bye & didnt forget to pack
the fafdas
Before leaving we ensured that we dont come across the same nightmare
road we encountered on our coming journey. So we where recommended to
take the alternate route, which had good roads & ride quiet fast on
them. We took the Dhanduka-Vataman Chokdi-Borsad route.
After riding for little less then 100kms we stopped for a fuel fill up.
Looking at the opportunity, I requested a Tyre wala guy to come &
help me tilt the bike a little, so I can lube the chain with some pix.

Riding further, we spotted a lovely temple enroute..

There was lot of sand around. But the road allowed us to travel really fast, even though starting very late.

We reached Jambusar, by evening.

This route led us through Bharuch to Ankleshwar. While reaching there, we where lucky enough to ride on the real historic 'Golden Bridge'
passing over the majestic holy Narmada River. It is said to be more
than 130 years old built by Britishers. There is also a railway track,
which runs alongside. It was dark, hence couldnt take any pic &
there was heavy traffic too.
We could see lots of temples, masjids around. The city was all confusing
for us. After asking to many locals, a guy got ready to escort us till
the exit & help us reach the NH. So we quietly followed him, though
he was zip-zap cutting the traffic. We had a tough time matching up with
him .
Finally, after lot of sweat full ride we where back on the lovely NH8.
Reached Surat around 8.30pm. Unable to find any hotels on the highway,
we where just riding too tired. Came across a not so good hotel at
Surat, just kept going further. I was worried for my wife, as we had a
real hectic ride and was badly in a need a hotel first & then
secondly it being a descent one .
Though she told me to keep riding till Daman if we dont get any. But
after some inquiries, we rode till Navsari & found a real good one
just on the entrance of the City. And Checked in. My Uncle stays here,
so thought of giving them a visit as well next morning before heading to
daman.
This Christmas, 2011, I gifted myself with a beautiful bike..!!
The Honda CBR250R

The Bike looks so beautiful. Had been struggling initially with the thoughts of which bike to choose or wait for the new launches. As the machine which I get, should be much better then my already better Karizma.
My bike had taken me to places really far, took lot of beatings on bad roads, dances on the mountain twisties & made me relax all day crusing up on a freeway.
Hence, a benchmark for the new bike was already set. CBR250R seems to be the perfect fit after reading all lot across forums, knowing the user experiences. Yes, The initial lot had issues but glad it was acknowledged & rectified by Honda.
Dwindling around thoughts, finally on a fine Saturday, the 24th of December, checked out with couple of Honda dealers & found one who can deliver the bike on the same evening itself. Arranged the cash & done with the booking for a red. Went home & staring at the clock to change the day in evening. But to my destiny, I get a call from the dealer, giving me a attack that the mechanic who was performing the PDI before the delivery, broke the fairings. And that was the last bike they had. Next red I can only get after a month from them. Got my cash back from them with lot of frustration behind my calm head. Again inquired with other couple of dealers & god blessed me with a Honda dealer who was ready to deliver the bike the very next day, which also happened to be the 25th of December... Vow.. Rushed to the dealer in no time (Sai Point, Thane) Gave them the cash & re-done the formalities & waited for the next day with a sleepless night. Ahh.. It was the Christmas & the day I will get my 'Santa Red' CBR...
Atlas.. Got home the bike & man, what a feeling was it..!! Just loved each bit about it.. The riding stance, the speedo, the torque.. For intial 500-700kms am trying to maintain within 5000RPM. But still I can easily reach 75-78kmph, which is more then enough. And hardly I can call it as a run-in with this speeds ;)

The best part was, none of my friends where informed about me getting this bike. All they knew was, am still thinking over & over, which bike to get & when..!! On the christmas evening, I ring them up & show up only to give them a surprise. Some where so happy, some loved it, some where stunned & took their time to show up the happiness :D
But each of them loved it to the core.. And thats the best part..
Now waiting to for the registration number to be assigned & I can take it out to munch some really hard kms. And hoping that even this bike wont dissapoint me as the earlier one. Which am sure, this wont..!!
The specs & other tech stuff is around tons of sites on the web. So I wouldnt want to occupy my space with it..
The coming weekend, I hope to get some stuff for the beauty. Starting with the tank-guard.
So this was my beautiful christmas gift to myself..!! Santa Red CBR250R.... :)
Wishing myself happy & safe miles ahead.......!!!!!
Rachithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07603626828598531431noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-362781078845430312.post-23574072257869223872011-10-21T03:06:00.000-07:002011-10-21T03:07:04.269-07:0080000kms of fantastic moments

Just some pix of nature, none of mine as it was a solo-ride.. Its been quite a while I created a thread in Tourer hence doing one now

Ride dated : 11th-Sept to 12th Sept 2010
800kms, Riding Solo..!! Nothing much

Trip Log:
A weekend was nearing & it was three days off(Friday-Sat-Sun) including the Ramzan id leave. So wanted to go somewhere for a ride, explore the nature, satisfy the long gap of some good long ride. Plans where cooking up in my head. I specially wanted to do a solo ride to experience the feeling of riding alone with the nature.
Friday almost came closer but didn't had anything in my head yet
My crazy brain thought, let the Friday come then will think in the morning & leave. Set the alarm, woke up by 5am. I still didn't had any plan, was getting frustrated, what to do where to go. Was standing near the window for almost half an hour like an idiot owl but couldn't make my mind. Parents where wondering if am fine. Finally, gave up & went back to bed. First holiday wasted.
The same lazy brain thought the same thing to be done on Saturday morning.. i.e. To think after waking up on Saturday. And the same thing, Woke up on saturday at 5am, couldnt think anything finally went back to bed. So wheres the trip..???? Hold on.! Day aint over yet.
I was darn frustrated on myself & was angry on my indecisive lazy brain. I remembered a office colleague & a good friend who had recently went to his native for Ganapati festival. He had even asked 'casually' me to come, but I didn't go with him that time. So the lazy brain got cruel & thought of jumping over at his place at Solapur... Even my parents got irritated on me & insisted me to go somewhere take a ride & riding at my friends place seemed perfect for them too. I gave a bang to my head & made up my mind for this. It will be a nice 800kms (Mumbai-Solapur=400kms) round trip ride. But have to come back on Sunday anyhow for office on Monday. So got ready, geared up & left home at 12pm noon. Yeah.. that late..!! Remember.. The lazy brain
Fueled up the bike, took out my map on the phone & headed towards Pune first. I haven't informed my friend yet, that am coming to his place .
Crossed pune, reached maggarpatta & called up my friend to give him a shocking surprise that I have left & am on my way to his house & should reach by night. While calling him, I was praying to the mobile service, please connect me to him & don't throw a network error message.
The climate was superb & just perfect so far,. Not hot even in the middle of afternoon. After Pune, I was on NH9, Mumbai-Solapur highway. 70% bad road with potholes. 4-Laning work was under-construction, hence I was one of those lucky ones to ride over the lovely laid potholes.

Now, enough of the blah-blah.. Some pix to roll.. Clicked from my mobile.

The mouth-watering solapur highway

vow. what a road.. felt am riding a drill machine

hot

Faced a heavy rainfall suddenly on the way. Had to ride in pitch dark for around 110kms facing the flashing disco lights of trucks which they love keeping on high beams.

My friend, Amit had come to pick me up & see my dusty face ;) His house was really lovely, parents where super cool.!! My dog, my buddy.. ChiChi..!! Gave Up on Wednesday, 10th March 2010
How it happened :
Since Monday it was unwell. We called up our regular doctor to come & give a visit for check-up. He was at his native & promised to come on Tuesday morning. He didnt come on Tuesday morning as he claimed to be in damn meeting & then promised to come in the same evening. But that too he couldnt as he got too late. Finally he showed up on Wednesday morning where my chichi's health was really worst. He couldnt even stand on his legs. Doc asked us to go to 'Bail-Ghoda' Hospital at Parel immediately. We took him there. Which I got down from the vehicle & was walking towards the hospital, he got fits. After reaching inside, the doctor asked me to keep my dog on the table. While the bloody doctor was having a chat with his colleagues, my dog got really bad fits. He was stretching his entire body straight. I shouted the doctor to come & check it immediately. He then came & saw. Gave him an injection. He was pumping his heart with his hands & was telling me that it happens normally after, the fit will subside in couple of seconds & he should be back in normal. But my poor chap gave up. The doctor tried some last moment steps & he answered me "He collapsed". He had some loss of blood in his rear part of the body, had heart enlargement, which caused blood blockage. I was begging to doc to please do something at any cost. It just cannot happen. Was not ready to believe it. My mom & dad where crying like anything, pampering him, kissing him. Am crying painfully while writting this. Am still in my worst night mares.
The previous night I took him besides me & was trying to make him sleep pampering me. He licked me, as if saying "Thanks for everything"
We did the last rituals at the hospital itself. I just couldnt see him go. Even at the time of cremation, the respective employees where in some strike related meeting. I was hunting for them like a mad guy, while my mom dad where sitting aside holding my chichi's body.
My idiot regular doc, never even touched the dog due to fear. Hence he never discovered of this problems which he faced. My poor dog, he never gave us any problems throughout his life till his last time. Please guys never rely on any doctors visit, periodically take your dog to a clinic for regular check-ups.
My sis was in shock when we returned home without him. She was searching for our dog like mad. We, entire family is under terrible shock. Still feels his existence in our house. Dont feel like stepping out, eating, drinking, doing anything. Any place I see in the house, feel his existence. With him alone, my house was never empty. Now inspite of entire family, without him.. The house is empty. He was there with us for 11 years. There are tons of moments we had with him. Each minute I remember his particular moments. On last Jan, we celebrated his 11th Birthday & distributed chocalates in entire society, which we did for every year.

A valuable family member of ours left us. You will always live in our hearts darling. Sorry, we couldnt save you. Wherever you are... Take care of yourself & May your soul Rest In Peace. We all love you & will miss you always honey

Hello Guyz... Am back with another small ride. It had been quite some days after my Leh Ride, I did Mumbai-Goa-Mumbai to ride to relieve myself. But again my inner rider soul was popping up so to satisfy it, I did a Small Solo ride to Bhandardara. A solo ride was pending from quite a while. Riding solo is a totally different pleasure of being close to nature. You are as free as a bird flying without any rules, without any worries. This ride was not at all decided. I had taken leaves to take a break from the hectic work schedule. It was Tuesday (04 Oct, 2009) night & I was still thinking about the ride next day. At 2AM in night I was searching for some nearby destinations around. Finaly narrowed down on Bhandardara.
I was expected to wake up by 5.30am & leave for ride early morning to enjoy the morning bliss. But my lazy soul only could wake up at 11AM.. Damn late now, isnt it..!! I was confused thinking if I should go for this ride or not & if I will be back home early. Finally the biking side of my soul won the argument & I decided to go for this ride. Got full geared up & left home by 12PM in afternoon.

While riding, didnt clicked much pix. Just few are here to witness my ride.
They are watching us..!!

Consolidating with the machine to feel it, thats so true.. U & I still remember the time, when our bikes conked off due to some pain, in middle of no-where & we spoke nervously virtually with the machine, pleaded it to get running & yeah it has done that, utilized the last breathe, came back to life for a while & has taken us to the source of help; till its breathe lasted..
This is a wonderful instance to realize it does "feel",..

Care for the machine & it will never let u down.. Speak with the machine, it will respond u back by an expression on the road.... They can feel us & we do feel them., Theres a connection a biker & a bike shares, which no-one can interpret.. Make this connection more strong.. The only difference between our expression & the machines, is the language, which is nothing but a distinct way to express having the same purpose...
I still remember the time, years back when i was a no-vice & got my beautiful companion with two wheels.. When I panicked on road, in middle of traffic where I stood as a prey, having difficult times to control it.. But my bike stood by my side without expressing a clue of irritation, telling me.. "Its fine, do it again". Always felt proud when I be with her.. Was in a real pain when I saw my bikes state after the crash, had sleepless night till I saw her in a proper shape.. We both looked each other in pain when we saw each other wounds.. Smiled at each other, when again started zooming & breathing on the highway..

Makes me wonder, why do I feel so much for her, why it pains when I see her having trouble, why do I always try to defend some limitation if she has than of the rivals.. Why.?
I know here on this part of the world which is xBHP, all of us do feel the same way.. No one can take any words against the machine we own, cause it has always stood by us. Seen with us, our life, bad & good times.. Saw me falling, the best time of my life I had with my better half, heard when we faught, stood in the sun in parking out of my office waiting for me for long hours..... Done so much for us, how we can call it a "Non-Living Bike". Its more than that.. a Living Machine which can breathe & react..

This is a mere example & evidence of we having a strong Bonding between Us & Our Machine. Hence from the above, one fact can be concluded is "Yes, they are watching us, they are feeling us.. They do LIVE, Love them & Get Loved"

My Post on xBHP.com: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop-general-biking-discussion/7281-revelations-biker.html
Rachithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07603626828598531431noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-362781078845430312.post-65741340787874689312009-02-10T01:33:00.000-08:002009-02-10T02:14:53.649-08:00Solo Ride to Mumbai - Malshej - Ozar
Solo Ride to Mumbai - Malshej - Ozar

Date : 7th Feb 2009
Bike : Red Karizma
Total KMs : 330km
Destination : Mumbai - Malshej - Ozar (ashtavinayak ganapati)
Riders : Solo
Average/Cruising Speed : 80kmph (on speedo)
Top Speed : 135kmph (on speedo)
Road : Good Roads (70%), Average / Bad (30%)
Time : 6.30am - 4pm (with lot of halts)

It has been quite a while I was thinking of doing some solo ride after keeping a frequent close watch on the Tourer section of xBHP.
Recently last sunday i had been on a solo ride to alibaug & hence was desperately seeking a good little more far away ride. Well, now choosing a destination was a big confusion. As I wanted to be back in a days time & before it gets dark. Got the biking directions from yahoo india maps,
shortlisted four places i.e. Malshej, Kashedi, Jawhar, Bhandardara. Took a printout of this routes & started thinking before going to bed.;) Thinking about it I started feeling very sleepy, still wasnt sure about the destination. Atleast I had made up my mind to go on a ride next morning (i.e. Saturday 7th Feb). Got up early morning ar 6am ( i know its not too early), while having my bath I decided a place :) "Malshej". Since I had recently gone for a Cleanup ride with xBHPians to malshej so was very somewhat aware of the route, roads & the beautiful twisties on the ghat. I thought of venturing bit ahead of it & lets see where the roads takes me or if theres any good place waiting for me. So had tea, as I thought breakfast will have on the way, Put on my jacket, took a bottle of water in my backpack, cleaned up my bike & here i left. Even my bike was bit thirsty, so was hunting for petrol pump. Left from Bhandup, took the straight road from thane majiwada through flyover to bhiwandi. The climate was fabalous. There was a small ghat, am not sure what is its name.

Little traffic but the climate was pleasing me. After a little ride I reached Kalyan from where I had to go to Murbad. I am too bad remembering the roads, never ever I do. I just waited on the road side just to tally the route with my route map, suddenly a couple came on a bike next to me & asked me for the way to panvel. Me giving them the paper of direction I was referring to, asked see if this can help you, they quietly left me. :D Btw, my office currently is at thane, if you take me through some other road, am sure I will get lost :D. Anyways after a lot of navigational
help from the locals I got a petrol pump somewhere after kalyan & filled up fuel into my bike. To mention here, I didnt had much cash with me, just 200bucks. Thanks to the credit card which helped me for the fuel. Driving for a while then I reached murbad, asked for the way to Malshej. After a descent drive of almost 100kms i reached some place where I could see some basic hotels. From here I could see the Malshej ghat & the mountains, where I
had to reach. Before that thought of having something, as was feeling damn hungry after a drive of 100kms. All I could find was a Batata vada & a socalled misal. More than choice, something eatable was important so quickly had it & headed towards the awaiting moutains.

Sat back on my bike & headed towards the inviting roads to the hills. Driving on the roads, me & my bike yelled a word "VOW"..!! Yeah, the roads where not only very good to drive on but also beautiful. Trees from both the side forming an entrance, sun trying to peirce from the branches, leaf falling & sprinkly on the roads..
Amazing.. Check the pix, all the snaps are clicked from my Nokia 6500s (3.2 MP, Carl Zeiss), Though not enriched resolution but good enough to feel the trip log.

Entire scene while driving was so wonderful, I started singing while driving.. Trees started laughing at me hence I stopped. :)..
Waited on many spots to capture the wonderful views, twisties, scenes. Am sure if had clicked snaps of every beautiful visuals my phone would have overflowed with its memory. The only disadvantage in a solo ride is, you dont get own snaps. But who cares,.!! Riding alone is a glorious feel in itself, just U & the nature.. Place is a nirvana.!!.

The ghat is so amazing, I had a close feel of it riding alone.. Leaning was never so much of fun, wonferful roads on the curves, what else do you need for cornering. Saw a small temple on the way of ghat which is a very attractive spot. The temple is within the rocks & I believe this particular place while rains, gets the most beautiful spot in the ghats.

Waited there, took an ashirwad from Bajrang Bali.. So beautiful.!! Place is miles away from pollution, dirtiness.. Pure nature.. Nirvana.!!
Alright, so malshej ghat is done.. now what was in my mind.. but my bike wanted to just run & so did I, unknown of the next destination, riding on to some place which I dont know,. I started feeling what real biking is all about, its not about destination, its all about ride like somebody said. That was the ideal thought floating in my mind, my odometer was even excited to run so fast. After a ride of like 35-40kms I thought of waiting at some place & enquiring with villagers if theres some place to see ahead. On asking them, I got to know about a Holy Place called as "Ozar" situated just 15kms away. Knowing more about this temple, it is one of the ashtavinayaks ganapati (Vajreshwar). Without wasting any more time just headed towards the temple. The road was real bad for around 5-6kms, bumpy..

Wished if my bike could get converted to a dirt bike & I do motocross.. I was literally standing while riding through those wicked bumps. But it was really scenic, the farms, farmers, cows, sheep & also a scarecrow to shoo me away..!! :P
Reached the temple, was really beautiful.. There was the same lake perhaps connected to it. Though photography was not allowed but managed to click some snap of the lord Vajreshwar (Ganapati).

I hope you are praying right now.. She started shouting at me, but when I told her I have come to this temple.. She was feeling very happy about me & bit stunned. I gave her the wonderful gift "Sound of the bell (ghanta) of temple through the cellphone..!!". Got very happy & even I felt I did something good. Visiting this sacred place I was blessed :). Took some prasad for the friends & family. Really was not in a mood of having food, but still managed to eat a Sada Dosa & I left back for home. It was almost 1.30pm, very hot when I started riding back. But the trees on the way helped me by their shade. You can also ride them out much longer and shift into higher gears.

Steps

You don't need a very powerful bike. You can definitely clutch wheelie a 500 cc sport bike, it just takes higher revs.

Stock gearing is fine, however, with this setup it can't clutch up in 2nd. You'll need a 520 kit for that. (To clutch up in second with less bouncing, try going -1 on the front sprocket, and +2 on the rear.

If you buy these sprockets in 525 pitch, you will be able to change them and use the stock chain).

(Edit:The chain length will be correct, but you cannot use a 520 chain on 525 sprockets, or vice versa.)

Sit comfortably, upright on the bike. You don't have to slide back for this trick. "It is possible to clutch up a wheelie at 70 mph in 3rd gear on a gsxr-600." This will take more practice, but it is very possible.

Drive at a steady pace around 1500-2000rpm. (Should be about 10-20mph).

When you are ready for liftoff, quickly open up the throttle and accelerate. This is VERY important because it compresses your rear suspension. It's very difficult to clutch a wheelie without compressing rear suspension first. You're not trying to build up speed! Starting at low RPMs is very important. If you start a clutch wheelie at 5000RPM, it will be very difficult and you'll red line long before you go vertical. Power comes from low RPM.

Almost immediately after accelerating, pull clutch in enough to disengage and let the engine rev to about 6000RPM. You can do this slow at first, eventually it becomes an instantaneous motion.

Quickly release the clutch at about 80%. This is the hardest part. You HAVE to release fast. You'll know you released too fast when your RPM drops down to 2000 - this means you released too fast. Practice, practice, practice. When you get it right it will feel like you have hydraulics on your front wheel and pop right up (much quicker and smoother than a power-bounce wheelie).

Once you master this, your bike should be popping up a little bit. The next step is throttle control.

While releasing the clutch, add throttle. If you want to go big - vertical - and stay there - the big thing to learn is that you can not let go of the throttle OR the clutch. You will control height of the wheelie with your clutch at this point.

So once again.. once comfortable with the clutch release motion, start giving it lots of throttle. You should be able to keep it up in 1st gear for a few seconds without any problems. The higher you go the longer you stay up.

Once you get good, you won't have to rev before you clutch. Do them at the same time.

Tips

Your front wheel acts as a gyro to keep your bike straight. Don't hit the front brake! Keep it spinning!

If you feel the bike going a little too far back, try tapping the back brake a little instead of chopping the throttle, this will let you keep your rpms up so you don't slam the front end and blow a fork seal.

Releasing clutch too slow or not enough. You have to let it out in one quick motion, just a flick. Think of the clutch as your foot kicking the back tire. If you kick it your foot will bounce off...if you just push your foot into, even with a lot of force, it won't bounce back.

Practice giving it lots of throttle and more clutch. Just don't loop it!

Warnings

Using the clutch to wheelie will eventually destroy your clutch, chain, and sprockets, so make sure to check them for damage before and after each practice session.

Most insurance companies WILL NOT cover damage done while "riding unsafely", which does include stunting, so be prepared to pay for everything you break.

Wheelies are REALLY dangerous. Doing them on public roads is irresponsible and can easily cost you your license, or even your life. Proceed with care!

When practicing wheelies, assume whatever object is, or will be within 500 feet of your direction of travel, you WILL hit. Remember, you have no steering and no braking whatsoever when on one wheel. Even when your front wheel comes down, your shocks are compressed, therefore no brakes until they decompress.(Edit:The position of the suspension has no bearing on the operation of the brakes.) This could take 100 feet depending on speed! Make sure the path is clear at all times!!

It's best to learn wheelies on a small dirt bike. Street bikes are heavier and more powerful; they can hurt you more easily and are a lot more expensive to fix when you fall.

Riders of above-average skill frequently fall (crash) when stunt riding. You don't have to flip the bike to hurt yourself badly. Trust your instincts and don't let others pressure you into wheelies or other stunts.

Things You'll Need

Helmet, gloves, protective pants and jacket. You probably won't loop your bike but be ready for the worst. Frame sliders are also recommended.

A special "stunt cage" is available for many bikes. It's an external frame that protects the bike from hitting pavement.

A special bar can also be installed on the rear. Also known as a 12-bar. This prevents the bike from going beyond vertical.

Stunt riding should be practiced only on a closed course with proper preparation (gear, insurance, and someone to provide first aid and call paramedics if needed).

Related wikiHows

How to Do a Basic Wheelie on a Motorcycle

How to Countersteer (Motorcycle)

How to Match Rev Downshift a Motorcycle

How to Measure Mileage of Your Motorcycle With a Reserve Tank

How to Change the Oil and Oil Filter on a Motorcycle

How to Ride a Motorcycle 1000 Miles in 24 Hours

Sources and Citations

http://www.wiredtom.com

http://www.crashcage.com/ (for the crash cage)

Article provided by wikiHow, a wiki how-to manual. On empty, long highways one tends to wring the throttle and cruise at high speeds. Riding through hilly terrain also means the engine operates in high revs most of the times. Constant running without brakes increases the engine temperature and puts a lot of load on the bike’s running parts like the piston, cylinder head, gaskets, etc. Make sure the gaskets aren’t leaking and the parts mentioned above don’t require an immediate change. Also get the compression of the engine checked to deduce any faults.

Headlight
For many of us, riding in the night is adventurous as well as a means to cover ground fast. However, most roads in India are still without street lights and dividers which means oncoming traffic can easily blind you. Ensure that the headlights are working properly before hitting the road. HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights throw a much brighter beam - invest in these. Also carry spare bulbs and fuse for the headlight. If your bike is old, cleaning the inside of the headlight glass can make a lot of difference.

Front disc
Most of the times, it is recommended to use the front disc while braking. Frequent high speed braking can heat as well as wear the pads fast. Hence, make sure the pads have enough life on them. Replace the brake pads and check brake oil to ensure a safe ride.

Front tyre
As with the rear wheel, make sure the front tyre too has enough tread. While braking, the pressure build up on the front tyre is a lot. Hence, on wet/snowy/muddy roads, it is recommended to have a good, grippy tyre up front. However, avoid upsizing as it makes the bike front heavy and deteriorates handling as well. Tubeless tyres are a great option at the front as well.

Rear tyre
Usually, a good quality tyre should last around 30,000-35,000km if used moderately. However, if you use dual-purpose tyres, the life gets reduced.
Make sure there is enough tyre life before embarking on a long trip, especially in the monsoons.
Ensure that the tyres are not leaking air before you set out. Always keep the air pressure at the recommended psi. If you’re planning a ride that calls for consistent high-speeds, a slightly higher pressure is recommended. Go in for tubeless tyres if possible as they have the tendency to hold air for a while even in case of a puncture.

Vital Spares
A clutch usually lasts thousands of kilometers - upto 50,000km or more in many cases. However, if you have been using your bike for stunting and have hilly terrain to encounter with steep climbs (like up north), we recommend that you carry an extra set of plates. It can be difficult to find an authorised service center in remote areas. However, any motorcycle repair shop will be able to replace the plates if you have an extra set on you.

Similarly, carry important cables needed to actuate throttle and clutch. Fuel pump guages are not always accurate. Before embarking on a ride, when the tyre is cold, check the pressure and keep it at a couple of psi more than the recommended pressure if you wish to go off the road or plan a very fast ride.

Using a coin to judge the tread depth of a tyre is the best way to know if it’s time to change it. Dual purpose tyres are the best compromise for touring - they give you the best of both worlds.

Also, investing in a set of tubless tyres is worth the extra moolah. Tubeless tyres don’t leak air easily in the event of a puncture and one can manage to ride on in most cases just by filling air repeatedly. Carrying an electric tyre inflater is apt for the hardcore tourer as it can bail you out of a tricky situation.

Vital Fluid
Oil is the life of any engine. Touring calls for constant high speed stints as well as negotiating hilly terrain where the engine runs at high revs. As the engine heats up, it’s vital that the optimum level of engine oil is maintained for the mill to work in a hassle free manner.

Make sure you replace the old oil if you are embarking on 1500-2000km long trip. Also, carry extra oil if you’re planning a long trip.

To check the oil level, place the bike on the main stand and once the engine has cooled down considerably, use the dip-stick to the check the level. Barring the Honda Unicorn, all other bikes in India come with a conventional twin shock absorber suspensded rear swing-arm. Be it a twin shock set-up or a mono, most rear suspensions on Indian bikes are adjustable. One should adjust them as per their requirement and load for the ride. We recommended you make them a little on the stiffer side for high speed stability over bad roads.

Do check the front suspension for oil leaks. Never leave for a trip with ruptured fork seals. The combined weight of the rider and the luggage with a ruptured seal is not a good thing. Also, one should change the fork oil every two years or so, as the viscosity of the oil changes with time.

If your bike has a soft front end, filling up a little more than the recommended level or filling up with a heavier grade oil will help stiffen up things a little.

Brakes

It is advisable to have a check on the brakes as well. For drum brakes, there is an indicator next to the drum which moves as the drum shoes wear out. Keep an eye on the indicator and replace the shoe when it’s worn out.

As for disc brakes, replacing the disc oil is recommended, rather than merely topping it up. Also, make sure any trapped air in the brake line is squeezed out for proper brake feel. A worth watching small sea side town. So hence here I go from the very first hour of our journey.

We had decided to meet up at our regular place(i.e. KCC carom club) at morning around 6. We all where 8 of us & Five bikes where decided to be taken i.e. My : Karizma, Nitin: Avenger, Amit Bhai: Avenger, Ajay : Unicorn & Adhir : Discover. All where damn curious & excited for this day to come, as it was going to be the first ever long ride for most of us. Finally the day came & I had a huge responsibility of waking up first & buzzing Jayesh, Nitin & Adhir to inform them that its morning.

I left home to the meeting place & saw bobs at the shop & picked him up & headed towards the spot. Surprisingly or expectedly we both where the first one to show up, then the other members followed. The last where Nitin & Anil & hence they had the right to remain silent, which they could not. Atleast they did a job of getting the coconut to break before commencing our trip. It was really wonderful to see everyone well dressed up with nice outfits, jackets, glares, etc. That makes an impression people.!! All bikes where in a row (was a real beautiful scene..missed the pic) & I broke the coconut to begin the journey. It was a great feeling & bikes where given an ignition & the journey started. We had to stop initially on a local tea shop for tea. People where staring at us looking at biker gang as we passed by. After having tea, we started & decided to stop at Airoli Petrol Pump for filling up the fuel. We filled in 10 litres for every bike, check the air pressures & started. Next halt was suppose to be directly at Panvel. Our Team Lead was Amit Bhai as he has huge lot of experiences in this kind of biking & is very well known with various places & most importantly the routes. All where riding together, but we needed to drive bit faster than expected since we left late & had to complete more distance in a less time. Ajay being a starter & a novice was driving at a very basic speed, others where irritated but also understanding his situation. Every time one bike use to accompany him to make sure he’s safe, afterall we all have seen this days sometime on our early days of biking.. Still we didn’t had the feeling of driving a long route, since we all where still in the city & no much different then our daily commuting. All where damn hungry am sure, & we spotted a good & cheap dhaba kind of a hotel where everyone could do their breakfasts. Halted their & had misals/dosas in bulk. Had tea, snacks, (chevda for bobs) & headed to Alibaug. I don’t think we stopped anywhere for a long time, about 2hours , may be for a minute of two (for nature call) & reached Alibaug. The journey was truly awesome, riding bikes from those typical <st1:street st="on"><st1:address st="on">National Highway</st1:address></st1:street>, village roads, small ghats. Vow..!! cannot explain in words. There where so beautiful roads at times, trees from both the sides welcoming us, sunrays trying to penetrate through the leaves, just beautiful. I was going crazy taking those turns on the amazing curves of roads. Am sure each of us enjoyed riding at their level best. Though it was a long journey none where tired, due to our high spirits of biking. Most of us had pillion riders for a company, I had Jayesh, Nitin had his bro BOBS, Adhir with Anil, Ajay & Amit Bhai where all alone enjoying their riding solely. All where driving so decently, safely & carefully. I didn’t thought it may be easy but surprisingly all where like a real nice riders.

One thing I forgot to mention, we had already booked a big room(full floor) at alibaug, called as Kaivalya Farms (courtesy: Amit Bhai). Pix can be found in our album. After reaching to alibaug, all we had to do was finding the place & rest our ass. It wasn’t so easy to find the place, as it was fairly on a complicated place. But somehow we manage to do it with good navigation brains of my fellow friends.

We met the owner of the Farm House, Mr. Joshi. Was good & descent fellow but fond of chewing brains. Am sure no one will ever forget in their life which he told us, his Daughter is a play back singer in some god forsaken movie. Am sure there will b smile on my friends faces by now. But trust me people, the room was just awesome. Really very clean, good bedrooms, huge hall space, clean toilets with all needed amenities. It was worth staying & coming so far. Alright then, we rested for sometime, somebody had playing cards. This was the time to earn money now, all sat for playing. We played around for 30-40 minutes & some lost, some won(including me J). Oh yeah, I remembered one thing, Jayesh suddenly came out of the room wearing a Hat.. Gosh.!! What was it..!! find it in the album, somewhere even I wearing it..!! We had nice fun & then left again to venture good places.

First, we headed towards Kashid Beach. This is around 25kms away from the farmhouse. The road wasn’t good at all I must say. We all where crazy hungry by now & suddenly spotted a normal hotel with a wine shop sticking to it. Man..!! This was our pit stop.. Without a second thought just barged into it sat in the hotel, the sequence of ordering beer started. First sip of it was kind of holy water having it after ages. Felt so good.. After a long ride, tired, relaxed, hungry for food & hot sun.. Just imagine you find in beer in this situation.. Will surely Die Another Day..!! Its mouth watering, isn’t it.!? So we had beer, with fish & chicken dishes which we didn’t had variety. Rushed to Kashid Beach then. On the way we say a massive industry Vikram ISPAT (Birla Groups). That was truly mind boggling. On the way we saw the sea, passing by it. Bikes on a side & sea on the other side.. This is so awesome.. Reached beach, we waited in a small sea-side hut. Looking at the beach, we all had just one word VOW..!! Such a nice, clean sea with real white colored sand. It being not much crowded, we could see an amazing view of the beach. We thought of taking our bikes on the beach. Amit bhai took a bit inside, suspecting something returned back. Me & Nitin where crazy to take it on the beach. Movement we got down on the beach, the bike lost its grip, had a real touch time moving the wheels. Still we struggled & managed to get some nice shots, of our bikes on the beach (pix in the album). We did burn-outs, actually they where not intentioned but happened due to no grip & tyre sinking in the sand. All where waiting to dive into the water. We just threw our bags, got out cloths off (ofcourse not all) & ran towards the shore. After a real long time getting in & tasting the sea was a great joy. Played a lot in the water, making sand balls & throwing at each other was so much fun. Had turned back kids while playing in such a way. Jayesh & Nitin decided to burry me in sand, which I willingly accepted (find pix in album). We found a fish lying on the shore, which me & nitin picked up & got a snap of gulping it (inspired from the movie DCH). While playing so rudely with no mercy on each other, we didn’t realize our breaking bones. The bones had started aching badly. We stepped out of the water, found a small stream of river where we can take bath & clean ourselves. Everybody got rid of the sand over their body in this stream & where fresh like never drunken before & ready to rock n roll back on the wheels. We manage to get real nice snaps on the beach & our gang (courtesy: Jayesh). The snaps are truly speaking for themselves for the splendid scenes of beautiful sunset. A must watch (pix in the album).

Next we decided to visit Birla Temple. This was around 15-20 kms away from Kashid. We reached there at the time when the day had just started becoming dark. The road were sick, extremely bad & don’t even dare to expect a street light. After reaching only me, nitin, amit bhai & jayesh decided to go in the temple, as rest had some problem (ask them for more details). The temple was a clear demonstration of latest architecture totally built in marble on a hill. To reach this heaven you need to come from the hell (the worst road).

Now we where done for the day & needed to end our day with a freshening drink & comfort sleep.

We headed back to our home (farmhouse), on the way we collected a box of beer & two full bottles of whisky along with food. Finding good food was a real problem as we where staying around 10-15kms away from core Alibaug. But somehow we managed to get home made dinner of chicken & picked up the parcel. Wasn’t much tasty but good to survive with. Reached home, we all got fresh with a quick bath & by around 10.30 - 11 pm we opened the corks of bottles. It was so relaxing, having drinks with those chicken pieces. Discussions on various topics had started, but the main topic which took over everybody’s attention was of Ghost (courtesy: Amit Bhai). All where scared but acting to be No Feared except for jayesh. Basically had a good time, enjoyed & I guess perhaps by 4am most of them threw themselves on the bed.

Had a really very good sleep, just because of the comfortable room of Mr. Joshi. Waked by 9-10 am, a nice morning with a little sadness of returning back home & starting with our regular work. Me & Anil willingly decided of going away in the town & getting some breakfast. Had the breakfast, everybody got freshened up, ready & all set to roll the wheels. We clicked couple of snaps of the farmhouse & us in the various poses with different glares..

OK then, all where back on their respective machines, ready to be back home. Started from there, we reached proper alibaug & Nitin suggested us to visit my relatives in Alibaug & just retrieve our old memories. So we decided to visit them after a long time. Just reached their house, & man all where so happy. We all where kind of foreigners, bunch of people staring at us. Going on bikes, looks so much adventurous, was an amazing feel. Now left from there for Mumbai. We decided not to stop & cover as much as distance possible. After a long distance we stopped once at the local gavdevi mandir for a moment, taking our time to pray the god & resumed. Non-stop drive until Karnala, Amit Bhai, me & Nitin were leading with a huge distance. After a constant drive of almost 2 hours we reached Panvel after spotting out a Hotel/Dhaaba.

We were again thirsty & this was a pit stop, so thought of refilling with some beers. Ordered some nice sea-food, chicken. First taste just took our breathe away, the taste just so marvelous. So far never came across such ravishing mouth watering food. Even now while writing this my mouth is watering. Taste it to believe it man. Now this taste we treat as a benchmark anywhere we go. Still never found any taste above it. We regret, that none of us remember the name of that hotel. Spent around 2-3 hours at that place & again started directly for Mumbai. Now without any stop on a fairly good driving for around another 1.5 – 2 hrs we reached our spot from where we had left. What a feeling of relief was it… Phew!!

So people with all your permission would like to end this. Hopefully I have put down a useful explanation of our journey out here which will help us to remember & cherish this moment. Lets wait for the <st1:street st="on"><st1:address st="on">next Road</st1:address></st1:street> Trip, & I will be back again with some more exciting visualization of our road trips in words.

Happy Biking….

Rachit K
Rachithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07603626828598531431noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-362781078845430312.post-65106337160432100542008-09-30T01:11:00.000-07:002008-10-17T11:34:57.350-07:00RoadTrip To Alibaug on 11th AugustHello All,

It has been long that we are very busy with our work, projects and schedules so now is the time to take a break and enjoy !!!

As dicussed, We have planned long road trip on bikes. Following are details of the trip :

Destination : Alibaug
Date : Leaving on 11th October 2008, Saturday (in morning) & return on Sunday probably after the lunch.
Approx KMs one way : 150km

Accomodation Confirmed : Kaivalya Farms http://www.kaivalyafarms.com/

How To Reach : From Mumbai/Thane: Take Mumbai-Goa Highway. Reach Vadkhal Naka and take Alibagh Road. Just 300 metres before Alibagh city, take Road to Murud/Roha. After 3 kms. One road goes to Roha and one goes to Murud. You can reach by both roads to the site. If you take Roha Road, Take a right turn at village SAHAN, which connects to Murud Road. It’s just a km. from here on your left side.
If you take Murud road after Alibagh, come upto Nagaon-Hatale and take a left turn for Village PALHE and after about ½ kms. You will find the property on your right side.

Following are the list of members & their payment details :

Some suggestions & important factors are :

1. Fuel Calculation : What we have thought is, rather than calculating the fuel individually & tying up the pillion partner with a particular rider or a single rider may be in loss; We can consolidate the petrol required for all bikes on an average & divide with number of members.
For eg. We will consider any bike which gives a fair average, not too less or not too high for an instance Ajays Unicorn. If unicorn consumes Rs. 500 petrol (to & fro) , we will multiply with total bikes & the total amount will be divided individually. Just a wild example, in case of 4 bikes & 8 members a total will be 2000 Rs & individual share will be 250.
Any other suggestions or alterations are welcome.

2. Individual share : Am not sure how to calculate this, could be on individual consumption or a fixed total share. But personally i think each person should have a minimum of atleast Rs. 1000-1200. It may vary, & could be discussed later. Remember we will be spending maximum of day time & night time of saturday & sunday till afternoon. Anybody if possible can carry little more money in case of any urgencies.

3. Accomodation : This I am trying to do something, since we have more number of people we may try to get some cheap place as it could be little comforatable of staying with a family (my relatives). Nothing is confirmed yet, but will try some best way out. Lets hope we get to stay in for free.

4. Dos & Donts : This section may sound funny, but its equally important. Basically, the reason of this point is to ensure we dont get stucked in any bad situation & make our trip pleasant & full of fun.
No speeding or rash riding( i know its for me ), try to stay together or at a closest distance.
No playing or teasing any other rider while riding.
Every pillion rider (back seater) will try to keep an eye or communicate with fellow riders.
No bike will wait on any stop alone, in case for wait or rest all bikers will halt at once together.
Every pillion rider will wear a helmet so lets arrange as required.

5. Ensure Bike in a good state : Dear riders, please ensure your bike is in a proper riding condition. Service your bike with engine oil change (important), check clutch wire, brakes, horns, lights, tyre pressure, etc.

More of the above details will be updated as we discuss.

If I left out any point or you have any suggestion for anything, please free to write it down rather than discussing in person or on a phone. This will keep all other members updated.

So lets make this roadtrip a pleasant, enjoyful & memorable. I expect all above people to join in.

Trip Pix

RoadTrip to Alibaug

RoadTrip to Alibaug

Regards,
Rachit K
Rachithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07603626828598531431noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-362781078845430312.post-77861655966240834632008-09-08T09:16:00.000-07:002008-09-09T07:54:33.375-07:00Did i mentioned how deeply am in love..Yeah.. Oh it just slipped over my mind to tell about my love.. I am not sure when & how this happened, was just a sudden strike of cupid some 2 years back...
I used to be with her everyday, started my day with her & ended my evening... Even was with me for entire nights without any hesitation with just one intention: To be with me. She always took my care so much, never realized was this a love.
Always made sure i reach my destiny on proper times & safely.. Use to be proud to stand with her in the crowd getting an attention & respect.
Always did what I wanted no matter how painful it was for her to do that.. Even got hurted due to mine or somebody elses mistakes, but never put me away, always made an effort of seeing me happy by standing back smilingly..

Never made me feel less in front of the rivalry crowd.. Stood always like a shield promising me "I am always there"
I started noticing & realized finally i couldnt spend my day without watching her, without spending time with her & hence concluded i loved her & cannot stay away from her.. I love her..
So today I dont have any hindrances in revealing the most valuable thing in my life, which means a lot to me, important than any other thing in my life, thats my bike 'karizma'.. yeah dont be astonished.. it is indeed..!! (please bare my insanity)

I do remember my time when my first bike was of automatic gears(Activa) just b'coz i lacked the experience of riding bike.. But lately i started feeling that lack of something in my life & passion, suddenly just in 6 months i decided to buy a bike..
I was badly confused, started with Unicorn without any knowledge just trusting words.. Still I couldnt get that feeling of satisfaction & completeness so i thought of something else which was CBZ-Xtreme.. Somehow i was not impressed by its looks though still didnt had much knowledge about judging a good bike & understanding the features...
Then there was a flash over my face & saw this almighty incredible machine.. didnt knew much about it.. But suddenly got that feeling of happiness & without any second thought just banged at the dealers desk & booked it..
Finally the best day came, when i was ready to get my darling, my own karizma..vow.. what a feeling it was..
me not being experienced about driving a bike with gears, my friend rode it for me... Immediately started knowing the gear patterns, controlling, handling, braking(which was totally new for me).. Loosing my patience i decided to take it to my office on my own, no matter whatever it takes but will ensure it doesnt falls or touches any1.. It was all new day for me coming out with this bike on the way to my office (to andheri, lokhandwala).. Got myself in middle of the traffic, was little panic, nervous but my bike encouraged me with its brightened looks like saying me "Dont worry I am always there..!!"
Was struggling changing gears on time, many times my bike turned off due to amateurish control over releasing the clutch.. But she was as freshly ready as before.. Faced a hard time balancing my bike while braking.. as the time passed the bike helped me gaining the acquaintance over the machine by its significant smoothness & unbeatable pickup.. First 2-3 days I had little hard time, but my bike always motivated me to do it again.. Had an amazing feeling to notice it being an eye catcher, truly stunning beauty..
Everyday i drove my bike more confidently than the earlier day,.. Was an awesome feeling to drive on the roads so smoothly like the almighty..!!
At times there where really critical problem like not at all taking any pickup, screwed up my clutch plates.. Couldnt resist that suffering on the bike, felt very bad about it.. I remember me taking leaves to office just to make sure it gets fixed fromt the service centres.. There had been many such days, I have takes leaves from my office, even had a pay cut couple of times; but didnt had any regret for the purpose i am doing it.
Even met with an accident & had tears in my eyes not to see my wounded elbow or knee or bones, but to find my bikes part in pieces... I remember how i had busted that car driver who suddenly took a turn on the U-junction & hit the bike on the tail..
Immediately took it to the nearest best garage, & repeatedly insisted the service guy to make sure it gets back to original & each components starts functioning as smooth as before.. Had a bill of 7000 but was totally worthwhile when i saw it standing like new in front of me expressing "I am fine". It was back to a new condition, ready to rock.. Didnt even mind handing good tip to the mechanics..
This bibliography about my bike will never end, but i have to bring it to a pause not stop. Will definately extend it more with my more feelings & continue my love towards this magnificient machine
Now am more cautious, more confident.. And yes my bike has made me a good rider.. Am in deeply love with it..!!Rachithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07603626828598531431noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-362781078845430312.post-23591919263694483952008-09-08T09:07:00.000-07:002008-09-08T09:14:30.586-07:00Coder a magician...Hey guyz..
After a long time .. huh.!!
So whats the common thing between magicians & software coders :== They both do incredible unbelievable things.. but ppl know thats just an illusion & not real...!!
A software consumer gets happy to see his funky application & the dazzling web sites displaying all sort of information & throwing the data whenever he wants on his face..! But a watching software coder gets overwhelmed when he remembers whats the messy code lies behind that fascinating features & just prays no more alterations come in future, else he will get badly entangled figuring out his handwriting in the software code..!!

A magician can fetch money on single trick from same person only once, but a coder can keep getting money for the same bloody software entire his life or his software dumped back over his face..Rachithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07603626828598531431noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-362781078845430312.post-31818959774033123742007-07-28T09:02:00.000-07:002008-07-25T05:21:42.463-07:00Just started with image processing..I have been doing programming on .NET for last 4 yrs.. just joined a new company, which only dealt in Image Processing softwares development. Initially quickly had few skeptical questions like a) Is .NET really capable of making softwares for Image manipulation/enhancements, then what about the performance. b) Will i be able to handle it, can i truly manage to make something which i never even tried.
Just believed in myself, which should say really works out (***Believe In Yourself**) & it did for me as well. Ppl interested in having a glance of my work, i have put up the screens of the two softwares which i started & resulted amazing.. 1) DirectPrint 2) AlbumBuddy
It took me about 6 months to figure out some drastic issues which made me put back while commencing. Those where, how the heck do i mange multi-layer functionality, later where the other issues : resizing, interactivity, etc.. will surely let you know about how i was fire fighting dealing with them.
Following part is for ppl who interested in knowing technically how i dealt with multi-layer functionality :
My approach to this was developing an user control for this, which will have all the properties, methods exposed & can be later used in any other projects.
So i went ahead & finally came up with a control where had a facility of just loading images at any specified co-ordinates, this made multiple layers of the images... Basically hypothetically speaking it was nothing but collection of classes treated as layers & their index was treated as the Zorder of the images. The user control consisted of a property for holding this collection of classes. On the controls paint event i was calling the paint event which was a method in each classes & painting on the user control.
This was a small & quick overview of my user control, & then i just started throwing this control in any projects with slightest modifications.. & bingo..!! I had a fully functioning image editing software managing multiple layer & multiple images..Rachithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07603626828598531431noreply@blogger.com2
